Academic History
- 1960
He received his dental education at the Faculty of Dentistry of Istanbul University and obtained his D.D.S. degree in 1960.
- 1964
He received his Dr. med. dent. degree in Conservative Dentistry and Treatment of Dental Diseases, in 1964.
- 1967–1968
Dr. Sandalli studied to be a qualified specialist in Periodontology, at the University of London – Royal Dental Hospital, 1967-1968.
- 1969
He received Associated Professor Degree in Periodontolgy, in 1969 and Professor Degree, in Oral Implantology, in 1974 from the Faculty of Dentistry of Istanbul University.
Achievements

He founded Periodontology and Oral Implantology Departments at the Faculty of Dentistry of Istanbul University and also founded Oral Implantology Department at the Faculty of Dentistry of Yeditepe University.

He also founded the Turkish Society of Periodontology and Turkish Society of Oral Implantology and he has been the president of these societies and the chairman of these departments for many years. He has been the pioneer of Periodontology and Oral Implantology in Turkey.
- 1987
Dr. Sandalli was the Dean of the Dental Faculty of Istanbul University between 1987 and 1991.

He authored numerous scientific and research papers which appeared in local national and international dental journals as well as the author of five text books on Dental Treatments, Periodontology and Oral Implantology. He is the editor of Journal of Oral Implantology.
- 1997
He has retired from the Faculty of Istanbul University in 1997.
- 2000
Dr. Sandalli was the President of the ICOI between 2000 and 2004.
- 2005
Dr. Sandalli has recently retired from the Faculty of Dentistry of Yeditepe University in 2005.

He has been recognized by the White House with an official letter, for his contributions to dental sciences.
- 2005
Dr. Sandalli has recently established a dental policlinic ‘ISTANBUL DENTAL CENTER’ and he practices with 6 dentists in different branches in dentistry at this center and he gives courses and lectures on Oral Implantology and Periodontology to dentists, nationally and internationally. Since 2005 Dr. Sandallı has been accepted as the lecturer to the New York University College of Dentistry.
